Design Systems Reading Response

Reading from Designing Brand Identity by Alina Wheeler, pg. 80 – 105

Every time you click, like, save, and comment online you are creating an identity and a name for yourself. You mimic personalities and send messages without saying words [sometimes]. Giving yourself an identity makes you stand out [or, unfortunately, blend in with other groups] of people.

BE WHO YOU ARE WHEREVER YOU ARE.
BE IN THE ENERGY OF THE SPACE.
BELONG TO THE MOMENT.
- Carol Moog, Ph.D

SIX CAREER SECRETS
  1. There is no plan.
  2. Think strengths, not weaknesses.
  3. It's not about you.
  4. Persistence trumps talent.
  5. Make excellent mistakes.
  6. Leave an imprint.
The process of designing a brand identity takes directional thinking and logic. In my situation, I will try to perform to create a brand that is made of layers and shows clients a point of perspective, while keeping the brand very fluid. The order of process reads as follows: Conducting research, clarifying strategy, designing identity, creating touch points, and managing assets.

Throughout my process and direction for rebranding 'Sky Recording' I need to keep in mind to "trust the process and keep the ball in the air." By making process driven decisions, I feel that those decisions will add to the solid structure of my project and designs.
