Some great shots. It's a good move that you are showcasing them in your taxonomy. I highly encourage you to highlight the "forensic" nature of these photos and let this concept/metaphor inspire and drive the format/structure of your book. You are starting to do this in the gridded layout (seen in digital sketches you posted in the proposal), but push it further into the copywriting and typography.
