Analog < Digital

The following image is the result of fixing and vetoring the edges of my marks. Converting them from analog (scanned and imported) can mess with the quality of the lines and marks that are being uploaded. Now that they are digital, they are cleaner and smoother (once I vectored them).

Next, I am working on making my marks into a digital animation that can unfold the feelings and purpose of each mark into a story. A story that reflects the feelings of my haiku.

Vector vs. Bitmap

VECTOR:

PRO:
-Made of points, lines, curves and can form and create complex objects.
-Can be filled with color, gradient, and patterns.
-Can be freely manipulated without losing definition of the vector graphic.
-Ideal for logo/graphic that needs to be resized often for different jobs without losing quality.

CON:
-Does not define quality as high as photography or bitmap graphics.

BITMAP:

PRO:
-Most common graphic format used on the computer and internet.
-Composed of pixels which help show shading.

CON:
-When the size of the bitmap graphic is changed, especially enlarged, the image becomes blurry because it needs more pixels to fill the space. When a bitmap graphic is reduced in size, pixels are taken out of the picture to comprehend the new size.
