Paul Rand [1914-1996]

Paul Rand was a designer who has worked on many different corporate identities and is also known as an american modernist.

In the film there are a lot of transitions to create the animation and movement. Panning going on throughout this whole tribute. For instance; this is apparent at 0:11; right at the beginning. which is followed by a zoom into the next frame when the eye opens and is triggered by a wipe.

"Don't try to be original just try to be good."

"Without esthetics, you can't find the truth to do things with quality."

These are two of my favorite quote from the film. Paul Rand seems to keep design personal while maintaining a logical and professional sense and explanation about how he designs and what design is about.
